Brief Description:  1: Engine Fuel Lines

Today I started working on a couple of the fuel lines that came with the engine. Since the engine has been test run in the factory, then I figured these should be quite simple to reconnect.

The hose that goes from the throttle body outlet up to the fuel injection distributor was left connected at the distributor end. Strangely though, it wouldn't quite reach the throttle body fitting. I had to pull it down through the cushion clamps about an inch before it would reach. Anyway, I got it done up okay.

Next was the fuel line that goes from the fuel pump down to the throttle body inlet. One of the Vans drawings shows this in quite good detail, and in looking at the layout I noted that the standard fuel pump outlet fitting needed to be swapped for a t-piece fitting. This is needed to allow a connection point for the fuel pressure sensor.

When installing the fuel fittings I used a small amount of thread lube, as shown in the last picture below.
