Brief Description:  2: Installing the Throttle Body

Okay, time to install the fuel injection throttle body to the bottom of the engine. Hmmm, no markings, so which way round does this thing go?? Better phone my LAME cousin, Harvey.

Harv was able to talk me through what I was looking at, and which side the throttle and mixture controls should be. A good indicator was also the positioning of the fuel inlet and outlet ports. Based on his advice I could then work out the orientation. All good.

Harv also told me that a very serious consideration at this point is moisture ingress into the engine. If I installed the throttle body by removing the blanking plate that covers the air inlet, then this would also open up the engine internals to the (moisture laden) atmosphere. Not a good idea if it's going to be sitting for another year-or-so without being run. Best to leave the blanking plate in-situ for now. Just gotta remember to take it out later.
