To fit the main wheels I needed to drill the cotter pin holes in each gear leg. This is done by first doing up the wheel locknut until there is no sideways play, and the bearing stops rotating with the wheel. You then use existing holes in the locknut to match drill cotter pin holes in the gear leg.
So that I could spin each wheel I needed to lift them off the ground. I did this by jacking one side of the aircraft up using the table lift under a tiedown eyebolt. Easy.
