Further work today on the landing gear of Miss Tango, starting with removing the nose wheel, packing the bearings with grease, tensioning the nose wheel nut, fitting the nose wheel nut circlip (easier said than done - I had to grind a point on the end to get it into the hole), then reassembling the wheel onto the gear leg.
The gear leg forks must also be tensioned just right as well. This is done by doing up the nut that holds the forks onto the gear leg until it takes 10kg (22lb) of pressure to make it swing in either direction. To measure this I used a set of digital luggage scales. They worked very well.
