Just three hours on the build today, and all I got done was install five of the twenty wing bolts.
I decided that I'm not going to take the wings off again, so can therefore install the permanent wing bolts. Today I started on the easy ones......top four on the right side, plus one of the bolts that hold the spar spacer in place. You can see the five bolt heads in the picture below.
I had the bolts in the freezer overnight, to help shrink them ever so slightly. I also sprayed a small amount of lube on the shanks.
Gee, these sure are a very tight fit. I had to use my small mallet to belt them in. The ones at the bottom are going to be so much harder to get at.
I also found the spar spacer bolt very hard to get into place, just because the aileron boot bracket is in the way. I had to bend the bracket out of shape so I could get the bolt started.
