I finally got a bit more done on Miss Tango today, with the windscreen now about as far advanced as I can go without some professional help.
I trimmed the plexiglass a bit more, to help get a better fit around the bottom, then made up another small aluminium clamp to hold the bottom edge in tight against the fuselage. There is still some significant gaps around the bottom edge, but I really need someone who knows fibreglass to come take a look and tell me if it will be an issue or not.
I'll refrain from rivetting the clips in place for the moment, until I know for sure that all is good to start the fibreglass work. Once the clips are rivetted in place then the windscreen is fixed for good.
As part of the canopy work I thought I'd also reassemble the canopy latch and check again how well the whole lot closes up. Gee, I'm glad I did. I discovered that I needed to rework the latch mechanism to get the slider to pull in tighter against the fixed roll bar. Lucky I'd previously ordered an extra latch arm. I just made a new one. All good.
