With the guide blocks done I then turned my attention to the canopy guide rails, which still protrude beyond the line of the fuselage sides at the back end. I'm installing the Supertracks canopy extension kit, and to do so the first step is to cut out a section of the guide rails, at the top, so the wheels can transition out of the standard guide rails and into the extension rails. I opted to extend the cut-out down the sides of the guide rail to help with the problem of protruding outside the fuselage. I've seen another RV build where this has been done, so I'm not the first in this space.
I then ground back some of the guide rail outer side wall on the belt sander, and now the whole rail fits neatly inside the line of the fuselage. The canopy skirts now have a proper chance of sitting flush against the sides.
The canopy guide rails are trimmed back so they fit inside the line of the fuselage sides
This will also work well for the Supertracks canopy extension
