Last night I called aorund to a mates house and used his drill press to drill the angled holes in the canopy guide blocks. It took quite a bit of setting up to drill the complex angle, but it turned out quite good on both blocks.
I have found that when drilling holes in nylon I need to drill one size larger. The nylon seems to "spring back" a bit after drilling. Anyway, I simply followed the instructions and got the guide blocks installed on each side. The canopy pins slide into the blocks quite neatly, with just a slight bit of extra force required to make them seat the very last bit. I'm happy with that.
With the blocks and brackets all drilled I then disassembled, cleaned up all the parts, alodined, primed and painted. I'll reassemble tomorrow.
