Brief Description:  2: Canopy Guide Wheels

After verifying that the canopy height was okay, I could then drill the bolt holes for the guide wheels. The tricky part of this was making sure the wheel brackets were exactly in line with the guide rails. The instructions do mention a good technique for this. You hold a straight edge against the inner surface of the guide wheel bracket, and verify that it runs parallel with the guide rail. When happy, drill the hole.

I must admit that I am disappointed that the canopy frame has bowed outward after fitting the plexiglass bubble. The instructions should have made mention to over-bend the frame to counter this, but alas, they did not. As a consequence my guide wheels now run hard up against the outside of the guide rails, not down the centre as they should. I've added some spray lube to the rails, and the canopy slides okay, and with little effort, but I know that it could have been better.

Now that holes are drilled in the frame I am very reluctant to try and bend it a bit more. If I broke it I would be devastated. Safer to leave it I think and build on.
