Brief Description: 3: Trimming the Plexiglass Canopy
I added a couple more pictures from my work trimming the plexiglass. Very messy, and today is very hot and humid, so quite uncomfortable.
I also took a picture showing my five stages for getting a nice glass-smooth edge on the plexiglass cut edges. First I firmly drag the edge of a small steel rule along the cut edge, much like a scaper. This removes the worst of the bumps and lumps very quickly, and results in quite a good initial finish. I then work my way through sandpaper grits, from 80, through 120, 220, and finishing with wet 400 grit. In no time at all I have a beautiful smooth edge.
Cutting plexiglass sure is messy
It's hard work in the shed today .... hot and humid
