When I bolted up the oil cooler to the mounting bracket I noticed that the flanges tended to pull in as I tightened the bolts. I decided to add a thin shim on the underside of the two outer flanges, plus a doubler plate to the outer side to strengthen the flange itself. The first picture below shows what I did.
I also made up all the necessary spacer tubes, and then bolted the oil cooler in place.
