Brief Description:  2: Seat Belt Cables

This afternoon I decided to fit the seat belt cables, which need to be bolted to brackets installed way down the back of the fuselage.

I set up a board and some foam pieces in the fuselage to lay on, and placed all the tools and parts needed to bolt the cables in place, then set about squeezing my large frame down into the tight confines of the tail section. Not any easy task for someone built like a beer barrel.

Once I'd clambered my way in, I then attempted to bolt up the seat belt cables only to find that the holes in the attach bracket are not big enough. Aaarggh! The quick-build personnel didn't drill them to size. Bugger!

Out I clambered (again, not an easy task), grabbed a drill, and got back in. With the holes drilled out to 1/4" it was then a realtively easy task to bolt up the attach bolts using my torque wrench. Admittedly, one bolt I had to do by feel as I couldn't get in a position to be able to actually see the bracket. Anyway, they're done now.
