This afternoon I refitted the nose gear shock absorber, and while doing so I noticed that the cabin heat valve doesn't fully close. With the control knob fully depressed there is still a small opening, which is not good. This would be horribly uncomfortable on a hot day, having hot air from the engine coming into the cockpit.
So I decided to fix it.
I removed the fuel pump cover and centre tunnel cover so I could get access to the cusion clamp that holds the cabin heat control cable into place. I then loosened the clamp and readjusted the closed position of the firewall flap.
After checking the operation (all good - it now closes fully) I then reinstalled the covers.
