Next up today I wired up the ammeter shunt, and then made a plastic cover to prevent anything dropping on top and shorting it to earth.
To make the cover I decided to sacrifice an old plastic storage tub that I didn't need, plus it's orange, which looks pretty good. The pictures below show how I made it.
This cover is very light weight, so I'll dispense with a doubler plate and just fit a couple nutplates direct to the firewall. But that'll need to be next time. By the time paint had dried and my cover assembled, it was too late in the day.
