Brief Description:  2: Sliding Canopy Frame

Next up I needed to bend the canopy frame so that the two horizontal side bows sat inside the fuselage sides by 1/16", the front bow matched the roll bar, and the rear bow matched the rear fuselage. Sounded easy!

Good grief!! This tubular steel frame may look and feel light, but it sure does resist bending. I'm a hefty 95kg, and yet I still had trouble bending the frame even with my full weight bouncing on it. Don't know how the little guys get on doing this. I got there in the end but it sure was difficult. I'll count that as my excercise for the day :-).

Anyway, my couple hours hard labour have paid off as the frame is now sitting exactly as it should on the fuselage. Think I might have a beer!
