I added a new category to this build log to also document the construction of my aircraft hangar at Mount Gambier airport (YMTG). This is not part of my aircraft build, so there will be no hours logged. It is simply to document the construction of Tango Papa Zulu's ultimate home.
About a year ago I approached the Mount Gambier Airport manager about reserving a space for a hangar, which we discussed and ultimately, albeit informally, agreed. I subsequently had a spot reserved at the very western end of the aerodrome which, apparently, is also the very last private hangar spot available.
A few months ago the airport manager contacted me advising that others were now enquiring about this last hangar spot, and what were my intentions. I advised that I still wished to build a hangar, and to prove it I initiated a contract with a local company to build me a 15.5m x 10.0m hangar, even though I will not be needing it for at least another 18 months.
Pictures below show where it is to be built, with construction scheduled to start in mid-January 2020.
