This afternoon was spent fitting the wing tip to the right wing. It started out very well, and I was so happy with myself (this entry) ......... but then it all turned sour (next entry).
I started by trimming the fibreglass wing tip, in accordance with the drawings, so that it cleared the aileron and aileron attach bracket. All good, and the wing tip now fit very neatly into the end of the wing.
I then firmly pushed the wing tip forward so that it fit neatly into the wing leading edge, while at the same time keeping the trailing edge aligned with the aileron, and then started match drilling and clecoing the attachment holes.
So far, I was very happy with how this was progressing.
But then .....................
