Brief Description:  3: Nav/Strobe Light Wiring

Lastly today I installed the wiring for the wing tip Nav/Strobe light. I left 3 metres of wire at the wing root, so hopefully that's enough length to run through the cockpit floor and up under the instrument panel. I also left another 1.5 metres at the wing tip, so should be plenty.

I'm loving my Brady labeller, in particular the nice neat heatshrink wire markers that I'm able to create. I was originally going to number all my wires, however have since decided to try for a naming convention instead. That way I can identify the wires without needing to refer to a drawing.

For example: the power wire to the left wing nav light is labelled LT-NAV-L-12V.

I also made the wires off into a 6-way molex socket. I fitted the Nav/Strobe light with a corresponding molex plug. Tomorrow I'll plug it in to my 14VDC power supply and give it a test.
