Brief Description:  Fuel Pick-Up and Level Sensors

Unfortunately Vans don't send a cut-down set of instructions with the Quick Build kit, so you need to go through each step and work out if it's been done already. I'm good with that, even though it does take quite some time, as it forces me to understand how the aircraft was built, as well as gain familiarity with all the parts.

After checking off a couple pages on building the wing skeleton, I then got to the section on building the fuel tanks, and although these are almost complete already, there is still a need to fit the fuel pick-up tubes and the level sender units. This then became my task for the day.

Rivetting the little bracket that stops the pick-up tube from rotating was made somewhat difficult due to the close proximity of the tube nut, however I eventually got them set okay. I also had some fun bending up the wire float arms when I made one bend the wrong way. No harm done, however, as it twisted out okay.

The instructions are quite clear in calling for the use of tank sealant to seal up all this work, and naturally, I don't have any. I'll have to order a small tube from Vans and finish this step in a couple weeks, when it arrives.
