Brief Description: 2: Provision for Tail Strobe/Nav Light
While taking a lunch break I phoned up my mate Harky for advice regarding what/where/how for a rear strobe/nav light. He build a very nice RV-7A several years ago, and told me about the AVEO Engineering lights that he installed. I looked them up on the internet and they look pretty good.
Next I searched through my Vans RV-9A Plans CD and found detail I needed on exactly where to drill a wiring hole for strobe/nav light wiring. Refer option drawings OP56-1 and OP56-2. Glad I bought the Plans CD, otherwise I wouldn't have had this necessary info.
Back at my workshop I then drilled a 1/4" hole exactly as shown on drawing OP56-1 ......right through the lower hinge bracket, spar doubler and rear spar. Of course this was easier done at the drill press, before I rivetted the rear spar assembly into place.
After drilling I touched up the exposed metal in the hole with some spray primer.

I'll be fitting a LED strobe/nav light at the end of the borrom rudder tip
