Brief Description:  Preparing for my build

Although I've had my empennage kit for three weeks now, I'm still yet to strike a blow as I first set up my workshop and accumulate the necessary tooling and consumables.

While down in Adelaide recently I paid a visit to AED Technologies, Lonsdale, and stocked up on Alodine 1200S, Deoxidiser 560, and Isopropyl Alcohol. I also went to All Type Paints, Salisbury Plain, for Protec Vinyl Etch Primer, plus thinners and gun wash, and Weber Abrasives, Welland, for a box of Scotchbrite 7447 deburring pads.

You can see from the picture that my workbench is now finished. Very happy with the end result. The top is simply two sheets of 16mm MDF, which gives a very smooth, flat surface to work on.

Today I also built a 900x600 roll-around trolley (you can see it to the left of the workbench) which has a slightly recessed top that neatly accomodates a single technical drawing. Is still a work in progress, but so far so good. I think I'll build a couple drawers into it, just under the top, plus put some side panels in it for added stability.

UPDATE 13-Nov-2016: Added pictures of my finished trolleys.
