Brief Description:  Riveted tank stiffeners, fuel filler, and drain

Today I began the proseal process on the starboard fuel tank skin. The first task was to back rivet the stiffeners. Next was the fuel filler ring followed by the fuel drain. I used longer rivets on the filler ring than was called out in the plans (-4.5 rivets were substituted for the flush head -4s). This resulted in a much better shop head.

After all the components were riveted in place, I went back and encapsulated the shop head on every rivet with sealant. When the sealant cures, I will go back a final time with a light and inspect each rivet to be sure there are no voids. Finally, I cleaned all the excess proseal off the tank skin around the flush rivets (machined head). The skin was set aside to cure.

The two tank end ribs will be assembled and sealed in the next shop session.
