Brief Description:  Match drilled wing skeleton

I decided to review and verify the rib placement in the wing skeleton. There are, of course, different types of ribs in the structure. In particular, I wanted to check the root rib because while it looks like the other inboard ribs, it is made of a thicker material. After verifying correct rib placement, the ribs were match drilled to the main and rear spars. The ribs were then removed, some additional protective plastic removed, the spar attachment holes deburred, and the gum labels removed. After the spars were deburred, the ribs were clecoed back in place and are ready to be riveted.

The shop instructions say to rivet the ribs to the spars and then attach the skins. After the skins are match drilled, it will be necessary to deburr and dimple the ribs and rear spar in the jig. I need to check to determine if all the necessary dimpling can be done with the pneumatic squeezer. On my first wing, I actually match drilled the skins and then took the skeleton apart to do all the dimpling of the ribs and rear spar on the work bench.
