You can see in the first picture below there is a 1/2" twist in the tank rib before any fluting (rib is laying on flat surface with no pressure). The second picture shows the same rib with some slight pressure applied to remove the twist (perhaps 3/8" out of true). The third picture shows the same rib after fluting. As long as slight pressure is applied the flange remains straight, however, when released the rib twists from the nose to the rear flange. I see no way of relieving the twist. I am hoping to get a reasonable fit in the tank skin for match drilling.

There is a lot of discussion on builder forums related to twisted tank ribs. I wish Van's would take a look at their manufacturing process for these parts to see if the quality could be improved.
