Brief Description:  Completed install of leading edge assembly

After completing the prep of the top skins, Connie helped me rivet the leading edge ribs to the front spar. This is a two person operation. In this case, Connie handled the bucking bar and I used the gun. We riveted the two outboard ribs and the inboard end rib using solid rivets per Van's plans. These ribs are relatively easy to buck, however, the remaining three ribs to the middle of the leading edge assembly are not so easy. After much research on Van's Air Force forum, I opted to use blind rivets for the hard to reach ribs. Its an approved practice and eliminates the possibility of dinging the front spar.

After securing the ribs, I squeezed all the flush rivets attaching the leading edge assembly spanwise to the spar. The assembly looks good and butts to the top and bottom skins with no gaps.
