Anniversary Surprise - Part 1
Connie, my co-builder, and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary on 30 August 09. My number one son, Sean, and his wife, Amy, had invited us out to dinner at a favorite restaurant a couple weeks ago as an anniversary gift. About the time they were to pick us up, Sean called and asked if we could meet at the restaurant since they were running late and had to drop our granddaughters off at the sitter's.
When we arrived at the restaurant we were shown to a private room and not only were Sean and Amy present but so were my sons Devon and Derek and their wives, Amy and Julie. Devon and Derek have been all over the U.S. and the world since entering the military 11 years ago so needless to say, our whole family hasn't been together very often. They had both flown in with their families as a surprise for our anniversary. Having all my boys, their wives, and the grandkids together at once is the best gift I can imagine. We are packing as much quality time together as possible in the next few days. This is the first time that all the grandkids have been together so they are getting to know each other. Life really doesn't get any better!
Since everyone was present, it was the perfect time to get some family pictures so we all descended on a local photo studio. I have included some of my favorite pictures below.
