We could have kept our overall cost of ownership on the Archer fairly low but a few years ago I saw an aircraft at Oshkosh that had been upgraded by Dennis Wolter, the owner of Air-Mod based at Clermont County Airport in Batavia, Ohio (just down the runway from Sporty’s). The interiors that Dennis designs and installs are really incredible. You may know that his company did one of the AOPA sweepstakes airplanes in recent years. Anyway, I was impressed and introduced the company to Jeff and before long we had a new interior with some additional upgrades.
The list of interior changes and improvements included additional insulation and soundproofing, new ¼” glass, new and/or repaired plastics, padded dash with glare shield lighting, new headliner, contoured seats and cushions with leather-like vinyl and fabric upholstery, new lettered and painted instrument panel, new carpets, new seat belts, additional storage compartments on seat backs, refurbished yokes, and the list goes on. The interior was and remains a solid 10. Dennis and his crew do incredible work. I have included some current pictures of the Archer’s interior.
