Continued working on wing root fairings on the aeroplane project today. The fairings from the top trailing edge of the wing wrapping around the leading edge and terminating again at the bottom trailing edge turned out nice I think. The last couple days, however, I have been wrestling on and off with the most aft fairings that fair the flaps into the fuselage.
For some reason my fairings don't exactly match the blueprints and I don't really know why. They seem to be close but unlike horseshoes, close doesn't count. Anyway, assuming I have the wings mounted correctly with the right sweep and incidence then the the fairings are what they are. So, I just modified them slightly and shaped, installed, and matched drilled them to the fuselage. They obviously aren't perfect but overall I think they look good and should be ok in terms of drag.
