More progress today at the hangar. Connie came out to the shop at about 1600 to help attach the starboard wing. Before she arrived I moved the lifting sling and engine hoist to the starboard side and prepped the wing. Using a vixen file and a die grinder with a scotchbrite wheel for polishing I beveled the end of the wing spar so it would slide easier into the spar box. I also lubed it with some Miracle Oil.
The process was the same as yesterday. I hoisted the wing 2-3" off my stands and maneuvered it into the spar box. This wing went into the spar box easier, however, getting the drift pins in was a little more difficult. I don't think my pins are tapered enough so I will do some more shaping on them before I attach the wings the final time.
Anyway, check the photos. It is finally looking like an honest to goodness aeroplane.
