Brief Description: More finishing work on cowl pin covers
I went back and did some additional work on the pin covers and the surrounding area. I beefed up the area with an additional layer of glass and used some filler to make the covers fit more tightly against the cowl. I still need to remove some material in this area to allow the piins to be inserted and removed with less danger of chipping the fiberglass around the plate. The pins have to flex in order to insert them and they tend to push against the glass.
I also need to relieve the area behind the plates a bit so they will be a little more recessed. Then I will remove just a little material on the face of the plates so they will better match the contour of the cowl. Finally, the covers will have to be polished. Also need to determine exactly what screws work best so they will set flush in the plates.
