Brief Description: Final gap sanding of cowl halves
The final sanding of all the cowl edges was accomplished today. After asking some other builders about the gap sizes I settled on about .05 for the cowl to cowl fit and .03 for the cowl to fuselage gap. That's about the thickness of a penny for the cowl to cowl gap and maybe one half penny thickness where the cowl meets the fuselage skin at the firewall.
These gaps looked good when everything was clecoed together, however, I think the gaps widened a bit after all the hinges were riveted. I am hoping the gaps look acceptable after paint is applied.
