Brief Description:  Trim & install empennage fairing with weatherstrip

I trimmed the upper edge of the metal fairing strips by .2" to allow the insertion of the rubber weather stripping. You will see that the rubber actually extends down and partially covers a couple of the screw heads when installed. The rubber strip on the back side of the metal fairing extended down and slightly covered the dimpling on the metal fairing. This required carefull trimming of the rubber just around the dimple so it doesn't interfere with the screws and/or dimple area of the metal fairing. On the exposed side I have to use a thing blade to hold the rubber out of the way when setting the screws (rubber then covers portion of screw head).

The result looks pretty good and the fit is snug. Hope it's correct. I worked from the prints. Guess I should double check the shop instructions to see if there might have been some additional helpful information.

Still have to trim and fit the forward edge of the fiberglass fairing and install a couple nutplates for attaching the fairing to the upper fuselage skin.
