Fitting the pants began with attaching the brackets to the axle nuts (bracket attaches with a single bolt to the center of the axle nuts). The bracket in turn, attaches with four rivet to the rear portion of the wheel pant. Once the pant is positioned properly (38 7/16" from my fuselage center reference and 8 5/8" from the floor) the pant was match drilled to the axle bracket. The two holes were then match drilled to the inner pant bracket.
The front of the pant was mounted, clecoed, and match drilled to the inner pant bracket. I have made it sound simple here but in fact, this process took considerable cutting and fitting. It took the better part of a day to get one pant completed.
