Brief Description: Enlarged bubble canopy holes to 5/32"
Can't put it off forever so today I decided to try enlarging the holes in the canopy to 5/32". The plans say #27 which is slightly smaller but I bent my only #27 drill bit so decided the next size larger would be fine.
I began by practicing on some scrap canopy material with mixed results. I decided the best practice is to tape the back side of the hole, clamp a small piece of pine as backing, and go very slowly with a plexiglass bit and moderate RPM.
I managed to do all the holes in the bubble without cracking or splintering any material. Next I used a small deburring tool to clean up both sides of the holes.
