I really can't delay the canopy installation any longer. The cutting and drilling has to be finished while the weather is hot. To that end, I began reinstalling the canopy hardware today. I began with the rails and windscreen support. I then reattached the slider portion of the frame. I am debating whether to try one more adjustment to make it fit just a little better. Problem is, sometimes one more adjustment actually hurts rather than helps.
I will need to cleco the forward upper skin back on the fuselage in order to fit the windscreen so I primed some of those parts today in preparation for the temporary installation. I won't be riveting the forward skin on for awhile yet. I Plan to get the firewall forward completed including the cowl before permanently riveting the skin.
I also modified the starboard wheel pant bracket slightly to allow the brake caliper to be installed/removed without removing the entire axle assembly. You will see in the pictures a slight rounded area has been cut just forward of the bolt holes. I removed just enough material to let the floating portion of the caliper slide out past the bracket.
