Brief Description:  Painting problems

Thought I would take just a few minutes to spray some clear coat on a couple interior pieces where I had added some labeling this morning. Well, the clear softened the color and it wrinkled. So, I spent about three hours removing the wrinkled paint, repriming the area, and then repainting with color. Unfortunately, now I will have to wait a couple days to apply new lettering, and attempt the clear coat a second time . I had this same problem on part of my instrument panel and had to rework the paint.

One of my interior parts came out ok (an auxiliary switch panel) so I installed the two mag circuit breaker switches, the remote ELT switch, an ELT audible alarm, and a 12 volt power outlet. You can see the panel in picture one below.

This small panel will necessitate the installation of a bent stick for the pilot. The stick will have an "S" bend about half way up from the torque tube connection. This will set the stick grip back 1-2" allowing the stick to be fully extended forward and all the way starboard without hitting the panel. I think the bent stick will look and feel better as well.

I will also be installing a bent stick in the rear cockpit so the infinity grip doesn't hit the pilot's seat back.
