Brief Description:  Questions for avionics guru at WBF, Inc.

There are about eight three-conductor shielded cables to terminate at the DB25 intercom connector. In all cases the shields and one internal conductor are to be grounded at the intercom. I was trying to determine how to do this and get a neat wiring job. so, I spent some time with an avionics guru that volunteers for the Wright B Flyer organization. He showed me some neat connectors called solder sleeves. These sleeves allow you to cut the shielding back leaving maybe 3/8". The sleeve can then be slid over the shield and both the internal conductor and a pigtail wire can be slid under the sleeve to contact the shield. You then heat the sleeve with a heat gun and the shield and wires are soldered together. Then you just ground the pigtail on each cable together.

I ordered some sleeves from Aircraft Spruce so I am ready to attack the intercom wiring.
