Brief Description:  Firewall manifold and wiring organization

There was a couple issues with the firewall manifold purchased fropm Vans. First, the part is quite thick enough to allow most sensors to be threaded on the top or bottom ports. All of my pressure sensors are to big in diameter to install anywhere but in the forward ports. To solve the problem I made a spacer (1/4" thick) and match drilled it to fit behind the manifold.

The second problem was my planned placement on the firewall. I wanted to attach the manifold where Van's brake reservoir normally goes. Since I am using pedal mounted units from Matco, the unused bolt holes and nutplates are ideal. The problem is the hole spacing isn't quite the same as the predrilled holes in the manifold. Anyway, I solved the problem by drilling out the manifold holes to 5/16". The mounting holes are, of course, oversized for the bolts but the manifold with it's spacer fits nicely and when torqued it is quite secure.
