Brief Description:  Finished adjusting canopy frame

I wasn't completely happy with the fit of the canopy frame so today I spent some additional time tweaking the frame. My primary concern was the position of the lower tubes that run back along the fuselage. The instructions want this part of the frame to be slightly inboard of the fuselage skin so the fiberglass skirts will fit smoothly along the contours of both the frame and the sides of the fuselage.

Anyway, I removed the starboard canopy rail and slotted the attach screw holes so I could adjust the rail inboard just a bit, maybe 1/8". I then bent the frame very slightly to narrow its width. I also bent the "tail" part of the frame down slightly to get about 3/4" gap to the fuselage skin when the canopy is closed.

Once the canopy rail was reinstalled I checked the final fit of the canopy frame. I am declaring it good enough. I think any further attempt to make it better probably won't result in any better overall fit. I just hope the canopy and skirts fit reasonably well.
