Brief Description: Aft upper fuselage skin clecoed for last time
After removing the protective plastic from the upper fuselage skin and wiping the unpainted aluminum with acetone to remove any fingerprints and/or residues, the aft upper fuselage skin was clecoed onto the tail cone for the last time. The anchors for the rear shoulder harnesses were clecoed into position.
After clecoing 100% to get the skin positioned exactly right, I removed every other cleco and replaced with the appropriate size rivet. Each rivet is held in place by a small piece of magic tape which helps my riveting partner identify the rivet being worked. As the bucker, I push lightly on the shop head and it pops out slightly but stays positioned in the hole. The tape also protects the sheet metal just a little from the mushroom set.
Finally, I trimmed the rear cockpit floor panels for final fitting and installed them temporarily. I should be able to get in and out of the fuselage a little easier with the panels installed. Ok, should be able to start riveting tomorrow morning!
