I tested my converted Peltor headset (ANR) in the Archer this evening and am pleased to report they are great. It's difficult to detect any difference between the converted Peltors and a set of Lightspeed Zulus we tested against. My partner and I flew a 3 hr roundtrip flight to New Philadelphia Airport with me wearing the Peltors while my buddy used the Lightspeed Zulus. On the return leg we swapped headsets and compared notes upon landing. Our impression regarding sound suppression and comfort is that the two headsets are comparable. Power consumption is expected to a bit more for the Peltors, probably around 25-30 hrs with a 9V battery. The Zulus should get about the same time but with two AA batteries. Price is about $900 for the Zulus, $1000 for Bose, and $240 for the modified Peltors. Bottom line, the conversion kit is worth considering.
