Brief Description: Began installation of nav/position/strobe lights
I decided to make another field mod to my wing tips. I have seen this mod on a number of RVs and I think it looks good and probably increases the light output of the nav, position, taxi, and landing lights. You will see in the picture below I cut a piece of aluminum to match the shape of the leading edge cutout where the nav/position/strobe light will be mounted. Before permanently mounting this plate I will polish it to a mirror finish. It should enhance the reflection and projection of the light from the LEDS.
I also began fabricating the small parts require to mount the landing and taxi lights. This consisted of cutting the springs, trimming and deburring the lamp mounting plates, and making the small spacers that go on the mounting screws. I also prepared the template for locating the nav/position/strobe lights.
