Brief Description:  Fabrication of fuel lines

Today I began fabricating the fuel supply lines within the cockpit. The syetm will consist of individual lines for the right tank, left tank, valve to pump, pump to flow transducer, and transducer to firewall fitting. There will be two fuel filters in the system, one mounted in each wing providing some redundancy.

In the images below you will see 3/8" copper tubing that I am using to make patterns for the lines that will be made from 3/8" aluminum tube. The copper is a little harder to work with but I like making patterns so any mistakes are not made on the aluminum tubing.

In fabricating the pattern lines I discovered the need for some additional AN fittings. The additional fittings wouldn't be required if following Van's plans but I changed the system design when opting for the Airborne pump and the dual fuel filters. This change results in a need for some 90 degree -6 bulkhead fittings, spacers, etc. I also decided to order some swivel fittings in the event that one or more of my std 90 degree elbow fittings don't line up properly when tightened.

The completion of the fuel lines will be delayed until the additional components are ordered and received.
