Brief Description:  Riveted the parking brake mount & painting

I pulled the lower bulkhead panel out and did the final riveting for the parking brake mounting bracket. I fabricated a slightly heavier doubler plate to mount the bracket to stiffen the overall area. Note the bracket below the parking brake that will provide the attach point for the brake line elbows. Once the floor of the forward baggage compartment is installed, the bulkhead should be solid.

Finished the day by applying a final color coat to a few pieces of the interior. The fuel gauge panel and the switch console will be getting some lettering. I wanted to get these painted before it gets cold in the shop. Once I get the labeling applied, I plan to spray the pieces with a clear coat to protect the lettering. Hope this primer, paint, and clear coat works and is reasonably durable.

By the way, I am still planning on an olive drab satin finish to most of the cockpit. Unless I change my mind the panel is going to be khaki. While most of the cockpit will be olive drab, there will be some upholstery with khaki accents (seats, side panels, arm rests). The green will try to replicate the fighter cockpits from the 1940s but I have opted for khaki rather than black for the panel so it won't be exactly like the aircraft manufactured during the war.
