Brief Description:  Almost done with main and aux panels

I have decided to install the large (3" OD) eyeball vent in the lower left aux panel. After talking it over with another builder I decided it might be needed in the hot Ohio summer, especially at pattern speeds. To use the large vent, however, I will have to go with a std wet compass. The vertical card compass from Falcon I was planning has to be mounted just a little higher in the panel which interferes with the flange on the back side of the panel (flange where the forward top skin is attached).

Anyway, this evening I located the two mounting holes and cut them using a fly-cutter. I was careful to cut them just on the small side and then did the final fitting with a Dremel sanding drum and scothbrite wheel on a die grinder. I also added one more warning light after an email exchange with Danny King and reading a post on the Van's Air Force website. I now have warning lights for boost pump on (amber), low oil pressure/master switch on (red), and starter switch enabled on stick (red).

I am pleased with the overall appearance and functionality of the panel. Much of the credit must go to Danny King since my panel is very nearly identical to "Beautiful Doll".
