Brief Description:  Finished installation of rudder cables

Today I wrestled with the rudder cables. Initially I installed the cables per the manual using the predrilled holes in the cable links. Since I installed the ground adjustable rudder pedals in the second position (slots just forward of the most aft slots) I used the second hole in the cable link. Unfortunately, this does not allow the rudder to move through its full range. The rudder comes no where near its 30-35 degree movement from neutral.

After some experimenting, I found that by drilling two new holes in the cable links 5/8" forward of the second hole, the rudder will move through its full range. The pedals reach their limit of motion as the rudder contacts the rudder stops.

I still plan to talk with the factory to determine if the rudder should actually hit the stops or if it would be preferable to have the pedals hit their limits just before the rudder hits the stops.
