Brief Description: Elevator horn, bellcrank, & push/pull tube
The task for today was to get the elevators temporarily mounted so the control horns could be match drilled. This was accomplished per the shop instructions. When mounting the elevators I determined that two thick washers, one thin washer, and the special thin thrust washer on each side of the bearing was about right to take up the slack. This is exactly as depicted in the drawings. By the way, getting those washers in place with the bolt through the bearing was tedious!
The last two tasks for today was to assemble the bellcrank (match drill, prime, and rivet) and fabricate the elevator push/pull control tube. The tube is complete except for priming inside and out. I plan to fabricate the next control tube and then prime both at the same time.
