Brief Description:  Instrument panel acquistion - page 1

I was recently offered a fully configured instrument panel from an award winning RV-8. A picture of the panel is included below. I spent about a week comparing and contrasting the steam gauge panel to some glass alternatives by Dynon. No matter how I configured the glass, the low end glass panel costs were about 50% higher than this steam gauge version when you factored in all the items to get an "apples to apples" comparision. Most of the additional costs were not in the basic Dynon pieces but in radios, GPS, etc.

Anyway, I am a steam gauge kind of guy building a 1942-44 era poor man's P-51 and they didn't have glass. Actually, their panels weren't this nice either. Everytime I am about to deviate from the original plan, Connie is present to get me back on track.

On page 2 I have included a list of the instruments included in the panel.
