Brief Description: Began fabrication of front & back seats
I began fabricating the front and back seats today. All the components were clecoed together, match drilled, deburred, primed as necessary, and reclecoed. The cap assembly that goes on top of the rear seat back was riveted together before clecoing. I still have to set the remaining number 4 rivets.
I was thinking the cap on the back seat was a fiberglass component but not so, at least in my standard kit. Maybe Van's switched to a metal assembly or maybe I just imagined the fiberglass. Anyway, the metal should be sturdier in the long run. I have never liked plastic or glass interior parts in airplanes. They don't seem to hold up very well over time.
