Brief Description:  Continued riveting the fuselage tailcone

Connie the riveter was available today so it was back to the workshop. We still have a ways to go but are making steady progress. So far, I am happy with the quality and appearance of the riveted skins. The seams are snug and there are no cosmetic issues, at least not yet.

Some of the rivets are a real challenge to reach with the bucking bar. I am leaving the really tough ones until the end just before I am ready to flip the structure back upright. I have an assortment of bucking bars so hopefully. I can get the right one to fit in the tight spots along with my hand.

Should be back in the shop tomorrow with Connie which should get us close to completing the canoe. I am guessing a couple more shop sessions before we are ready to flip the structure upright (assuming I follow the manual and mount the gear a little later). As I said in an earlier log entry, it would save some handling of the canoe structure if I could just do the gear next and then flip the structure aftewards.
